The contemporary ketuba (ketubah) is egalitarian in nature and is a spiritual and ethical
committment signed by a couple at the most significant moment of their lives. Designed
as a work of art, it is a tangible reminder of their dreams and aspirations through the
years of their life together.

A ketuba is a marriage contract that is signed and read as part of a Jewish wedding ceremony. Heather is delighted to introduce a line of limited edition prints that are now available. These beautiful Giclee prints are produced on archival watercolor paper with fadeproof inks. Each print will be personalized and may be ordered as a regular print, or can be enhanced with the raised illuminations that have become the trademark of her original artwork. Heather is also willing to do custom texts for her clients using the prints that are pictured on the website

All the designs are available with egalitarian texts in English, Hebrew and English or in Hebrew. As she has been commissioned to create many ketubot for special wedding anniversaries, interfaith marriages and committment ceremonies as well as for Jewish wedding sevices, she has spiritually meaningful texts for all couples.

In the Waterflow series, of which the ketuba Merlot is shown on the left, clients can choose large illuminated Hebrew letters that are the translation of either the phrase 'I have found the one in whom my soul delights' or alternatively, 'I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine' . The latter phrase is illuminated in the center circle of most of the Geometrica, Ocean Sunset and Yin Yang series. These illuminations are discernable in the regular prints, but in the deluxe versions, Heather will re-apply the illumination process to the print, creating a hand-finished print that is one step closer to an original 'word of art' ketuba. This process raises the letters off the surface and in this fashion, the illuminated letters shine, adding a textual dimension and shimmer to the paper that creates the unique sparkle that is the signature of Heather's extraordinary 'words of art' ketubot.

In addition to the prints described, Heather also creates original ketubot for clients that do not want a print. She works with the couple to create a 'word of art' ketuba that is uniquely their own, both in design and text. Original ketubot are also done on archival watercolor paper.

And for the ultimate in elegance and beauty, Heather has developed a line of stained-glass frames for her work that creates a totally different and spectacular ketuba. The design of a stained-glass frame  coordinates in color and design with the ketuba. These stained-glass frames can be ordered with a Word of Art ketuba print or a Word of Art original ketuba. The web does not do justice to the beauty of the glass, but the delight and ongoing pleasure of the clients who have purchased them does. Email us for details.
